Abstract
We were saddened to learn of the death of a member of the consulting board, Professor Takeo Umemoto, on September 13, 2002. A former student of his, Dr. Mariko Osaka of the Osaka University of Foreign Studies, has written a memorial tribute reviewing Professor Umemoto's outstanding accomplishments and intellectual contributions to music psychology. Professor Umemoto will be deeply missed by his international colleagues and friends.
