Abstract

This cover depicts how to inject magnetization into ferroelectric materials and its manipulation. Based on nonlinear optical theory, Jian Zhou and co-workers (article number 2200428) illustrate contrast photoinduced magnetization depending on different In2Se3 bilayer stacking patterns, which is ascribed to their band structures. A simple model is developed to understand such band variation. The photoinduced magnetizations arise from orbital as well as spin degrees of freedom. The work provides a theoretical basis for exploring the relationship among spintronics, orbitronics, and nonlinear optics in semiconducting platforms.
