Abstract
In this study, graded Gyroid-type TPMS graded lattice structures were designed and manufactured by laser powder bed fusion, showing tailorable and predictable mechanical responses, such as Young's modulus, yield strength, and multi-platform stress-strain curves. The strong regularity of the mechanical response makes it possible to predict, while the difference in gradient degree makes the prediction difficult. Revised mathematical equations were modelled to accurately predict the mechanical responses of graded lattice structures. Insights and equation models can be used as guidance for the design of graded lightweight structures and biological bone scaffolds.
