Abstract

This study discusses the teachings and eschatological views of Kiai Haji Sholeh Land in his book, Al-Mahabbah wal Mawaddah fi Tarjamah Qouli Burdah (hereinafter abbreviated AMWQB). The book is the result of translation of the verses selawat Burdah by Imam Al-Bushiri, one of the religious scholars of Moroccan descent who died in Egypt in 694 H / 1294 M. AMWQB was published in Singapore using a pegon script with a thickness of 368 pages. Although this book is a work of translation, but KH. Sholeh Darat also gave reviews based on his own views and thoughts. Among the matters reviewed by KH. Sholeh Darat are ethical issues that explicitly or implicitly are related to eschatological issues. Like other Islamic scholars and thinkers, KH. Sholeh Darat talks about the good and bad values which are based on religious principles (read: Islam), including those concerning the afterlife or life after the end of life on earth. Through AMWQB, KH. Sholeh Darat discussed the issue of ethical values and awareness correlated with the issue of eschatology. Good and bad deeds taught by KH. Sholeh Darat is more oriented towards the afterlife.
