ABSTRACT
 Tafsir Al-Ibriz is a tafsir book that much studied by traditional muslims society, especially in pesntren. This book is written in pegon script with makna gandul. This book has special charactristics that can’t be found in other books that written in Indonesian or even Arabic language. The using of pegon script with makna gandul can not only analyze Arabic gramatical, but also preserve tradition. Besides the pegon script with makna gandul, there are some other characteristics of this book. They are the use of statified language to differ the human positions based on the islamic view; the different view on antrophomorphism; and the use of al-Quran verses as a solvers of daily problems. Basicly, these characteristics are part of what Zamakhsari Dhofier calls as tradition of pesantren that naturally constructed in Al Ibriz tafsir book.
