Abstract
Tactics can be used to increase the probability of a creative insight or solution. Consider the creativity of children. They are spontaneously original on a regular basis. Adults, on the other hand, often rely on routines and assumptions. For adults, creativity may require some effort. It certainly is an intentional activity during adulthood. When intentional actions are themselves used in a systematic way, they can be viewed as tactics. They are often called strategies but often they are tactics instead and used when the individual is in fact faced with a problem. They are in that sense a part of the creative process. This article described some of the more useful tactics for creative thinking.
