Abstract

To the Editor: Complex aphthosis (CA) is characterized by a nearly constant presence of ≥3 oral or oral and genital aphthae in the absence of Behçet's disease or inflammatory bowel disease.1 Systemic treatments such as dapsone, colchicine, and thalidomide can be effective but are associated with potential serious adverse effects.1,2 Topical ointments can be difficult to apply and/or may provide inadequate relief. Tacrolimus “swish and spit” (TSS) is an easy-to-use regimen effective for geographic tongue and oral lichen planus.
