Abstract

Near Cedar City in southwestern Utah, at least five periods of movement along the Hurricane fault are recorded by faulted volcanic rocks, elevated surficial deposits, and relict topography. These periods of movement and the associated features have been used to establish a tabular sequence of geologic events for the Tertiary and Quaternary of the area from which the relative age and the approximate geologic age of individual events may be determined.
