Abstract

This chapter explores the aspects of corrosion monitoring. It develops a methodology of modern corrosion monitoring constructions and equipment of potentially hazardous industries and facilities in acid media—expert systems. It also discusses the concept of analytical and information system for complex evaluation of technical and corrosion conditions and residual life of highly hazardous facilities operations. Such approach allows receiving of an authentic, adequate, and reliable estimation of a technical and corrosion condition of objects of heightened danger in a broad band of data-ins. Mathematical modeling of corrosion processes and protection in system “medium-surface” is executed by means of modeling a limiting stage of process—kinetic of inhibitor's diffusion spent during corrosion on the formation of a protective film. Problems of corrosion protection and connected safety issues are the major issues of concerns for all developed countries. Modern traditional theoretical presentations and methods of study of corrosion processes in many cases do not ensure efficient corrosion protection of equipments. Local forms of corrosions present the most danger. Chemical interaction of metal with the ambience and with the provision for constructive-technological factors (CTF) plays significant role in their development.
