Abstract

40-50% of children with ADHD present with significant levels of emotional lability, which is associated with poorer outcomes. Characterizing how emotional lability interacts with the diagnostic dimensions of inattention and hyperactivity is therefore critical for effective treatment. As a starting point, we here interrogate the brain basis of this relationship in two white matter tracts crucial for attention and emotion processing: the superior longitudinal fasciculus (SLF) and the uncinate fasciculus (UF).
