Abstract

Endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration (EUS FNA) is routinely performed with the stylet in place during puncture. The removal of the stylet has been shown to increase cellularity of the aspirate. There are no prospective, randomized, controlled data looking at whether stylet use or lack of, affects the adequacy of EUS FNA.
