Abstract
The electric vector potential (T) and magnetic scalar potential (ω) are used to solve the 3D nonlinear transient eddy current problem. Results of implementation using first and second order hexahedral finite elements are given. The implementation example utilized is thin steel plates around a coil with exponential excitation. The computed results are compared with measured data for flux and eddy current densities. The T-ω results are also compared with numerical results using A-Φ method.
