Abstract

Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) comprises two main elements, viz. bronchus associated lymphoid tissue (BALT) and gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT), which show morphological and functional similarities1–4. The GALT will be exemplified by Peyer’s patch, the lymphoid organ to which the morphological similarities refer1.
