Abstract
Let A be a noetherian ring and I an ideal of A. Simis [7] posed the following question: if Torf(Z, A/Z) is an A/Z-free module, what consequences are brought on I? In the present article we consider this question in local noetherian rings. Our purpose is to give some reasonable additional conditions which ensure that Z is generated by a regular sequence.
