Abstract

This chapter provides feedback design for a class of networked control systems under prevailing design conditions. The state-feedback and observer-based control designs for linear systems connected over a common digital communication network are addressed. Digital communication network conditions, such as network-induced delays, data packet drop-outs, and limited communication capacity due to signal quantization are taken into consideration. A control design criterion is derived on the basis of the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional method. Novel interval delay system approach is used for stability analysis and control synthesis for networked control systems (NCSs) with two static quantizers.
