Abstract

AbstractThis paper describes the rationale, structure and operational concept for implementing an undergraduate systems engineering program at the U.S. Military Academy. The rationale for the program derives from the purpose and vision of the Academy and from the needs of tomorrow's Army. The structure of the program is influenced by leading systems engineering programs in the nation and the constraints of the Academy curriculum. The implementation of the program serves the needs of cadet education, faculty development and linking the Academy to the industry it serves – the U.S. Army.
