Abstract

Group therapy in inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory treatment contexts has become a standard offer in almost any psychiatric hospital. With a more common use of systemic concepts within psychiatry a lot of ideas about group therapy based on the principles of systemic therapy found their way to everyday practice. The following paper describes different important aspects as setting, frequency, form of organisation, clients and issues concerning therapists. Additionally prototypes of systemic group therapy in psychiatry are presented.
