Abstract
This book, edited by Josef S. Smolen and Christoph C. Zielinski, is divided into the following five parts: (1) general considerations; (2) animal models of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE); (3) immunologic and genetic aspects of human SLE; (4) clinical aspects of human SLE; and (5) therapeutic aspects of SLE. Most of the articles were well written and up-to-date. The book will be useful for both clinical investigators and basic scientists who are interested in the area of autoimmune disease, especially SLE. The references cited in each chapter are both extensive and current.
