Abstract
Systemic granuloma is an acute and chronic granulomatous disease of cultured Sparus aurata with dietary causation and metabolic aetiology of tyrosinaemia and kidney tyrosinosis. The chronic stage of the disease is characterised by extreme visceral granuloma while blood tyrosine levels decline and crystalline deposits disappear from the kidneys. Fish become emaciated and die after 1–2 years of the chronic disease condition.
