Abstract

Ground-state (t,p) cross sections have been measured for seven sd-shell nuclei, using enriched gas targets in a rotating cell. Results have been compared with DWBA, using amplitudes from a recent shell-model calculation. Most of the observed features are reproduced by the calculations. Deviations at both ends of the shell can be understood in terms of out-of-shell configuration mixing.
