Abstract

Equation of state (EOS) data for the lanthanide and actinide elements are reviewed and re-evaluated with respect to a new EOS form most suitable to represent EOS data for solids under strong compression. With a corresponding linearisation scheme it is shown, that a physically meaningful scaling of the experimental EOS data can lead directly to an obvious classification into normal and anomalous compressional behaviour.
