Abstract
ABSTRACTThe Cochrane Library of Systematic Reviews has been published quarterly as a DVD and monthly online (http://www.thecochranelibrary.com). The final October 2016 issue (4th DVD for 2016) contains 7068 complete reviews and 2467 protocols for reviews in production. In addition, there are citations of 973,000 randomized controlled trials, and 15,700 cited papers in the Cochrane Methodology Register. The Health Technology Assessment database contains some 16,000 citations. One hundred and seventeen new reviews have been published in the previous 3 months, of which three have potential relevance for practitioners in pain and palliative medicine. The impact factor of the Cochrane Library stands at 6.1. Readers are encouraged to access the full report for any articles of interest, as only a brief commentary is provided. The CD version of the Cochrane Library will be discontinued and the Library will only available online in the future.
