Abstract

AbstractMorphological characters of adults and immature stages ofPyloetis mimosae(Stainton 1859) are redescribed mainly on the basis of material collected from seed pods ofLeucaena leucocephala(Lem.) in the Ryukyus, Japan. Although the systematic position of this species in the family Tineidae has been problematic, we conclude that it should be placed in the subfamily Erechthiinae based on morphological characters.Pyloetis mimosaeis newly recorded from Japan.
