Abstract
The re-engineering work to convert an Ultra-Light Aircraft (ULA) into unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for flight performance test is presented in this paper. The modified Unmanned Ultra-Light (UUL) is redesigned by hydraulic control system for flight verifications. The proposed system mainly maneuvers hydraulic actuator in conjunction with linear variable differential transformer (LVDT). A linearized and offset calibration process is created to assure correct feedback in control actuation. For autopilot flight control, a Paparazzi flight control is implemented for 3-axis operation. Following ground tests, the proposed UUL carries out flight test with a complete autopilot control with waypoint routing. This paper presents a preliminary fight test result of UUL in supporting Sky-Net Project.
