Abstract

In this paper, system models for system of systems (SoS) involving automated vehicles are derived based on analysis of the context where the constituent systems, such as the automated driving system, the ego vehicle driver, surrounding mobility, pedestrians, information communication technologies, transport infrastructure systems, physical environment, and natural environment, interact. The safety requirements are defined through refinements of the system models utilizing system safety relationship among hazards, hazard contexts and harm. From the safety requirements for constituent systems, those functional architectures are defined including the behavior and the structure of each constituent system.
