Abstract

Electro-Hydraulic Servo Motors EHSMs are widely used in applications where high power to weight ratio is needed. Most military weapon systems and air defense systems, in particular, uses such motors because of their compact size, wide operating ranges of pressures, high frequencies, high response, and rapid speed. Therefore, it is essential to understand how such motors affect the whole performance of the system which makes controlling these motors is an important task to be achieved. This paper presents a system identification for such motor and applying different types of PID controllers such as classical, modified, and fractional-order PID controllers. The validation of the model was achieved through some experimental measurements.
