Abstract
A method for a combined analog-digital data reduction, correlation, and recognition of spoken words is described. The system employs bandpass filters, related electronics, digitizing equipment, and a large-scale digital computing system (IBM 7090). Methods for processing speech data into a computer for laboratory analysis are described. The application of Boolean algebra and the techniques for programming the statistical derivation of logical functions are shown, as well as examples of recognition techniques based on this system.
