Abstract

This is a description of a system for diagnostics of absolute thermal expansion of the cylinder housings in steam turbines (SDART) that has been developed for engineering monitoring of thermal power plants (in a stationary version) and for power plant repair companies (in a portable version) to monitor turbine equipment during startup and shutdown. SDART is intended for operational or pre-repair evaluation of the state of equipment when dealing with vibrational reliability problems or establishing the reasons for deviations from regular performance of mechanical indicators relative to the values set in the technical operating rules or specified in the standard RD 34.30.506–90 in order to determine the required amount and type of repair work.
