Abstract

The paper is devoted to the numerical simulation of transient vortex flows and optimization of the flow structure in the flow part of vortex flowmeters and other devices. It presents a new software system for numerical simulation and optimization of the vortex flow in the flow part of vortex flowmeter. We suggest a new software system which involves a new method for transforming plane flow parameters to spatial parameters and a vortex flow optimization method. This paper presents the functional structure of a method for transforming two-dimensional signal parameters into three-dimensional values and the reasons for choosing to decrease model dimensions to accelerate simulation. We describe the main features of our proposed method: the optimization function, output and input parameters, optimization criteria. We outline the functional structures of the proposed vortex flow optimization method and computer simulation and optimization system for vortex flow. Our studies showed high correlation of the presented system with three-dimensional simulation results and eddy resolving methods. We provide real test data for default and optimized flow part geometry and discuss the results of practical implementation.
