Abstract

The ARIEL facility at TRIUMF will augment beam time by a factor of 3, thus enabling more science experiments in nuclear physics, life sciences and materials science. The ARIEL-II project's aim is to complete what the ARIEL-I project started. This system engineering approach for ARIEL-II was inspired by the V model, to allow for the flexibility of incremental development and delivery. Some challenges and constraints are discussed, in addition to highlighting some lessons learned from ARIEL-I.
