Abstract

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has become a broad academic research into civilian applications. UAV system design in aerodynamics and flight control is the key to success. This paper presents Cardinal UAV design and implemented for civil mission requirements using full composite fabrication. After basic specifications are determined, the Cardinal UAV has tried to modify into high payload for low speed performance in fabrication and implementation. The paper records the Cardinal UAV system engineering approach of design, development, manufacturing and verification in technical details. By autopilot flight control, the Cardinal UAV is converted into easy maneuvering for long endurance in various operating speed. It does specially fit for disaster surveillance and rescue applications.
