Abstract

A quasi static approach has been utilized to simulate the performance of a fuel-cell vehicle with supercapacitor storage. The vehicle is being developed at the Paul Scherrer Institut, together with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and industrial partners. This paper describes the underlying model, with emphasis on the fuel-cell auxiliary components. The configuration of the fuel-cell system is discussed and suggestions for the best operating conditions are given. Further a proposal of a driving strategy is presented.
