Abstract

Using the technology of multiple-receiver, Synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) with high mapping rate and wide swath became true. However, it also brought some new problems, such as non-uniform sampling in azimuth and unfitting the approximation of stop-and-hop (the platform transmits a signal, receives the echoes from targets, and then jumps to the next azimuth sampling location). In this paper, a multiple-receiver SAS signal model is obtained in the background of high mapping rate and wide swath. And using the method of frequency domain, Variational non-uniform sampling in azimuth is reconstructed without the approximation of stop-and-hop. A fast algorithm of reconstruction is given. The research avoids the offset of point target position and defocusing of reconstruction in the situation of high mapping rate and wide swath. The simulation and trial results show the validity of this method.
