Abstract

Modeling of the cardiac cycle and respiration signals helps to understand the characterization of these functions and determines any disorders of the heart and lungs function. In this research, Matlab software have been used to synthesize two equivalent electric circuit networks from signals of breathing and non-breathing. The signals are generated from a piezoelectric sensor placed on the chest. Prony toolbox have been used to extract transfer function that represents the signals, then Foster method have been utilized to synthesize the circuit networks. The equivalent circuits included five resonators with an inductance in series in the case of the heart beat signal. At breathing signal, the effect of the lungs added to the previous circuit a capacitor in series with the other components.
