Abstract

Abstract Two novel complexes, Na3Y(pydc)3·12H2O (1) and Y2(pydc)(OH)4·3H2O (2) (pydc = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylate), were synthesized by yttrium (III) nitrate and pydcH2 with different molar ratios. The elemental analysis, IR spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction were used to determine the structure of complexes. The thermal decompositions and antimicrobial activities against Bacillus coli and Staphylococcus aureus were recorded and interpreted for both.
