Abstract

Novel coordination polymer [Mn2(ox)2(bim)4]n (1) (ox = C2O42−, oxalate dianion, bim = benzimidazole) was synthesized under the hydrothermal conditions. Although X-ray single-crystal analysis revealed that compound 1 is only an oxalate-bridged 1-D chained Mn2+ coordination polymer, it further self-assemble into the interesting 3-D supramolecular networks via intramolecular NH⋅⋅⋅O interactions. The results of photocatalytic activity toward methylene blue degradation showed that the highest degradation rate reached 82.6% at pH = 4 in the presence of H2O2. In addition, photocatalytic recyclability, optimum pH conditions, and the kinetics of MB degradation were investigated in detail.
