Abstract

Nano-particles of Co0.5 Cu0.5 Alx Fe2-x O4 ferrite compounds with compositions (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0) were prepared using co-precipitation method. The IR spectra of the samples showed the main characteristic bands of the spinel ferrite. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed the formation of a single spinel phase for all the samples except the compound with composition x = 0.4. The particle size of the samples confirmed the nano-size, which found in the range of 30–54 nm. The saturation magnetization and coercivity showed a decreasing trend with the increase of Al-content. The electrical and dielectric properties of the samples were investigated through the DC and AC measurements of the ferrite samples. Moreover, dielectric properties of the samples, such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss, and loss tangent, exhibited decreasing behavior with the increase of frequency, which explained in terms of the possible polarization process in ferrite.
