Synthesis, photophysics and crystal structures of hexanuclear copper(i) and silver(i) acetylide complexes

Abstract

The luminescent complexes [M 3 (µ-Ph 2 PCH 2 PPh 2 ) 3 (µ 3 -η 1 -CCC 6 H 4 CC-p)M 3 (µ-Ph 2 PCH 2 PPh 2 ) 3 ][BF 4 ] 4 are synthesized by the reaction of [M 2 (µ-Ph 2 PCH 2 PPh 2 ) 2 - (MeCN) 2 ] 2+ and 1,4-diethynylbenzene in the presence of Bu n Li in thf (M = Cu 1, Ag 2); X-ray crystal structures of both are determined.
