Abstract
Abstract In this work, bis(Δ2-2-imidazolinyl)5,5′-dioxime (H2L) was synthesized by reacting bis(Δ2-2-imidazolinyl) with cyanogen-di-N-oxide. H2L forms mononuclear complexes with a metal-ligand ratio of 1:2 with Ni(II) and Co(II); Cu(II) forms only trinuclear complexes. The reaction of mononuclear complexes of Ni(II) or Co(II) with Cu(II) gives heterotrinuclear complexes, [(HL)2MM2Cl4], {M = Ni(II), Co(II) and M = Cu(II)}. Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) on H2L [(HL)C1(H2O)M] have a metal-ligand ratio of 1:1 and contain a six-membered chelate ring. The structures of these complexes are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
