Abstract

An efficient synthesis of vinyl trifluoromethyl selenoethers from easily accessible starting materials has been developed. The copper-mediated trifluoromethylselenolation of vinyl halides delivers the products selectively and with good yields under mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, a range of functional groups were tolerated.
