Abstract

This paper presents sufficient conditions for implementation of the Boolean functions by a single neural element with a threshold activation function. Based on these conditions, algorithms of neural elements synthesis are developed. They can be successfully used for the construction of neural networks designed for representation and recognition of discrete signals and images. Further suggested methods for the synthesis of a single neural element and for the construction of logical circuits out of them can be used in the cases where the use of other methods to solve these problems is difficult, because in these methods the number of operations depends exponentially on the number of inputs of neural elements.
