Abstract
1. A study was made of the rearrangement of triethyl phosphite under the action of α2-(diethylamino) 2,4-, -2,5-, and -2,6-xylenols, 4-chloro-α-(diethylamino)-o-cresol, α-(diethylamino)-o-cresol, α,α′-bisdiethylamino-2,6-xylenol, and α2,α6- and α2,α4-bisdiethylaminomesitols. 2. These phenolic Mannich bases are able to react in the free state with triethyl phosphite with formation of the corresponding ethoxybenzylphosphonic esters.
