Abstract
Some Biginelli compounds were synthesized by using a photochemistry method. The Biginell three-component cyclocondensation reactions in THF medium using a mixture of g -ketoester or g -diketone, arylaldehyde and (thio)urea under irradiation with a Wolframe lamplight gave 1,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-ones, DHPMs, in 70-95% yield after workup.
