Synthesis of Self-healing Magnetic Microcapsules with Targeted Delivery through Magnetizing Emulsifiers

Abstract

Targeted delivery self-healing microcapsules have higher self-healing effect and lower cost, but there are few preparation methods. Here, we have shown a novel method to synthesize targeted delivery self-healing magnetic microcapsules containing Tung oil (MMCTO) through introducing magnetic emulsifiers (ME). Compared to microcapsules containing Tung oil (MCTO), the MMCTO can migrate desirably and the average working distance of MMCTO is shortened almost by 50% under a magnetic field. The novel method is simple and economical, which is beneficial to guide future design of magnetic microcapsules.
