Abstract

The problem of designing sampled-signal networks with a finite number of passive, but not necessarily lumped, circuit elements is discussed, together with realizability conditions and a general synthesis procedure. The resulting networks consist of resistors and open- and short-circuited transmission lines, all of which have the same delay. A method for finding a realizable network function that approximates any arbitrarily given magnitude characteristic is presented, and an approximate low-pass to sampled-data-network transformation is included.
