Abstract
RNA, complementary to rabbit globin messenger RNA, is synthesized by Qβ replicase in a reaction primed by either oligo(rU) or oligo(dT). The radioactive product is in a double-stranded hybrid form with its mRNA template following synthesis. The reaction generates nearly full-length copies of the mRNA, and a series of discrete length partial transcripts. In addition, non-specific RNA between 90–140 nucleotides in length is produced.
