Abstract

The synthesis of pseudo-glycoside hybrid dimers in which 4-oxa-5α-cholestane and cholest-5-ene units are bridged through an α- or β-glycosidic bond is described. The structures of both steroid pseudo-glycosides were elucidated by combined 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Single crystal X-ray Diffraction studies corroborated the proposed structures.
