Abstract

Undoped and doped (, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2) nanopowders were synthesized by coprecipitation with as the starting material. Single-phase nanopowders were obtained when heated above . Micrometer-scale crystalline phosphates are fully covered with a continuous amorphous shell film of phosphate. The core structure was confirmed to be cubic by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The TEM image of the selected area diffraction pattern also showed a corresponding [100] zone axis electron diffraction pattern of the cubic nanopowder with good fit to (020), (001), and (021).
