Abstract
AbstractThe preparation of a chemotherapeutic for combating infections of the bile ducts is described.By coupling of 3′,3″‐diaminophenolphthalein with p‐acetylaminobenzene sulphochloride we obtained 3′,3″‐di‐acetylsulphanilylamidophenolphthalein, which by saponification was transformed into 3′,3″‐di‐sulphanilylamidophenolphthalein. This product was found, both by bacteriological and pharmacological investigation, to possess desirable chemotherapeutic properties.
