Abstract

A composite photocatalyst KCN/LFO was synthesized using K-modified g-C3N4 (KCN) and LaFeO3 (LFO). The photocatalytic activity of the KCN/LFO was evaluated by degrading indole (heterocyclic organic compound). The KCN/LFO-10 (mass fraction of LaFeO3 with 10%) displayed the highest removal rate of indole. Indole was degraded to 97.366% after 60 min. The photocurrent and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results suggested that the close correlation between KCN and LaFeO3 can increasing the efficiency of photogenerated carrier separation. The capture experiment results demonstrated that ·O2− and ·OH is primary active substance, respectively. Moreover, the degradation efficiency of KCN/LFO-10 to indole remains stable at 87% after four successive experiments of indole photocatalytic degradation. This work presents an effective method for addressing the pollution caused by heterocyclic organic compound.
